Teruo Artistry
Brothers from the Bay, Brian and Timothy Watters, have turned their lifelong cultural and artistic endeavors into a successful ‘Creative Lifestyle Brand’ called Teruo. As artists, musicians, creators, innovators and painters, these brothers have channeled their talents into Teruo ~ a line of men’s streetwear uniquely blending activity with creativity. The brand extends far beyond clothing however to fine art, music production, music management, photography and more – it is a true Artistry.
THE STORY: Teruo is a Japanese first name meaning sunshine man. Teruo Iyama was the grandfather of the Watters brothers and the inspiration behind all of their creative endeavors. Released in the 1940s from a Japanese Internment Camp with just twenty-five dollars, Teruo Iyama established a successful career as a multi-talented artist lending his talents to everything from architecture to painting, gardening, carpentry and stained glass work.
THE CLOTHES: Teruo is a menswear collection comprised of graphic t-shirts, hooded sweatshirts and embroidered caps. Each graphic is a piece of art in itself and every item in the collection is adorned with a piece of fabric that has been hand picked and recycled from all around the world; no two pieces are alike.
